ROULETTE, An opera for the turn of the century

ROULETTE, An opera for the turn of the century
Enric Palomar

“ROULETTE, OPERA FOR THE TURN OF THE CENTURY” is a reflection on two changes of century: the arrival of the 19th and of the 20th. The music of Enric Palomar starts with contemporary sound to open up to a rich palette of colour, timbre and rhythms. The celebration of the centenary of the Generation of 98 is the basis for exploring these two moments in the history of Spain and the Americas with a clear common denominator: the winners and the losers are always the same. ROULETTE is a commission of the Festival of Pocket Opera of Barcelona, in collaboration with the Festival of Contemporary Music of Barcelona.
